Privacy Policy
Last updated June 1, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how DOZI collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the DOZI iOS app and related services. DOZI helps users track GLP-1 routines, doses, protein, meals, symptoms, weight, progress, reminders, recipes, and app settings.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use DOZI, we may collect or process:
- Account information from Sign in with Apple, such as your Apple-provided user identifier, email address if shared, and name if shared.
- Profile and onboarding information, such as name, sex, height, birth date, starting weight, target weight, goal, GLP-1 status, medication, journey stage, and target date.
- Medication and dose information, such as medication name or type, delivery type, dose amount, schedule, start date, planned dose changes, dose history, body location, and notes you enter.
- Nutrition information, such as meal titles, serving descriptions, calories, protein, carbs, fat, ingredients, notes, recipe bookmarks, and recipe ratings.
- Journal information, such as weight entries, symptoms, appetite, energy, streaks, XP, and completed-day activity.
- Photos you choose to use, including meal photos for nutrition estimation and progress photos for your journal.
- Apple Health data, if you grant permission, including body weight and dietary protein data.
- AI chat information, including messages you send to DOZI's assistant, recent conversation history, and app context used to answer your request.
- Purchase and subscription status, handled through Apple and RevenueCat.
- App usage and diagnostics events, such as screen views, sign-in events, settings changes, dose and nutrition events, health authorization status, recipe actions, and account deletion events.
- Support communications you send to us.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide account access, sync your data across sessions, and maintain your profile.
- Track doses, nutrition, journal entries, weight goals, recipe bookmarks, recipe ratings, streaks, and reminders.
- Estimate nutrition from meal descriptions or meal photos when you request that feature.
- Power the DOZI AI assistant and summarize chat history for continuity.
- Manage subscriptions, entitlements, purchase restoration, and paid features.
- Provide local notifications for dose and journal reminders when enabled.
- Improve app reliability, product quality, and support.
- Protect the service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Health Data and Apple Health
DOZI only accesses Apple Health data after you grant permission through iOS. The app may read body weight and dietary protein, and may write body weight to Apple Health if you enable syncing. You can change Apple Health permissions in the Health app or iOS Settings. We do not sell Apple Health data, use Apple Health data for advertising, or share Apple Health data with data brokers.
Photos
Meal photos used for nutrition estimation are sent to our Firebase Cloud Function and to OpenAI to generate a nutrition estimate. Progress photos are stored locally on your device; DOZI syncs the journal entry's photo reference, not the progress photo file itself. If you delete a progress photo in the app, DOZI removes the local file reference and attempts to remove the local file.
AI Features
When you use DOZI's AI features, your prompt, selected conversation history, optional summary, and relevant app context may be sent through Firebase Cloud Functions to OpenAI. Meal descriptions and meal photos may also be sent to OpenAI when you ask DOZI to estimate nutrition. AI outputs can be inaccurate; do not rely on them as medical advice.
Where Information Is Stored
DOZI stores account and app data in Firebase, including profile data, settings, medication and dose records, journal entries, nutrition logs, daily nutrition summaries, bookmarks, and recipe ratings. Some preferences and progress-photo files are stored locally on your device. Public recipe data is read from Firebase.
Third-Party Services
DOZI uses the following providers to operate the app:
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple, Apple Health permissions, local notifications, Photos access, and in-app purchases.
- Firebase and Google Cloud, for authentication, database storage, analytics, and cloud functions.
- RevenueCat, for subscription entitlement management and purchase restoration.
- OpenAI, for AI chat responses, chat summarization, and nutrition estimation.
- Vercel, for hosting this website.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. We do not sell your personal information.
Your Choices
- You can decline or revoke Apple Health, camera, photo library, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can edit or delete many entries inside the app.
- You can cancel subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
- You can delete your DOZI account in the app. Account deletion removes your Firebase user data and authentication account, but it may not remove purchase records maintained by Apple or RevenueCat, records we must retain for legal reasons, or data retained in backups for a limited period.
Data Retention
We keep account and app data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, DOZI attempts to delete your Firebase user document and related user subcollections, including bookmarks, daily nutrition summaries, dose logs, journal entries, nutrition logs, medications, and recipe ratings. Some logs, backups, analytics, purchase records, and legal or security records may be retained where necessary.
Children
DOZI is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to DOZI, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect information, including Firebase authentication and provider-managed infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as DOZI changes. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
